Former Vice President
JOE BIDEN (D-DE)
During his time in the White House, Vice President Biden called
for a national commitment to four free years of public higher
education. He now proposes to make community college free,
and to fix and simplify the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
program. At a recent campaign event, Biden also said student
loan borrowers should not have to start repaying their loans until
they are making at least $30,000, and loans should not accrue
interest until that point. Additionally, Biden said he would reduce
the percentage of income that borrowers repay in income-driven
repayment plans from 10 percent to 5 percent.
