ASAK Solutions Hits JFK ground running
JFK Airport is one of the
AIRPORT VOICE, JUNE 2020 5
main air cargo hubs in the
country. There is an incredible
amount of freight coming
and going on 747 freighters
along with dozens of other
aircraft every day.
Veterans of the cargo
industry, and the armed
services, Arnold Sue and
Alminko Kojic realized that
there was room for another
company to handle the various
forms of cargo and
started ASAK Solutions less
than a year ago.
Their experiences at Evergreen,
GSI and dnata served
them well when deciding to
begin their own business.
Now, after hard work, and
relationships cultivated after
years of working for other
companies, the partners have
found a foothold in this business.
They provide ground
handling, aircraft lavatory
and water servicing, cabin
cleaning, snow removal and
process tons of ecommerce, epak,
packages, daily.
Arnold and Alminko are
proud of their accomplishment
especially in these days
of the coronavirus which hit
the cargo.
Said Arnold, “ We did not
unemploy anyone during
this crisis. We followed the
directives of wearing masks,
gloves and se split staffi ng.
No one got hurt or sick.”
With their steady workforce,
they are able to handle
a large e-pak contract which
keeps them busy.
“We work closely with the
trucking industry in bringing
ocean shipped goods
from Los Angeles, and Port
Newark to JFK where we
process the mail for the
USPS. This keeps us pretty
busy.” Arnold said.
This bustling part of their
business is evident as carts
and carts of bundled packages
can be seen line-hauled
from their facility at Building
78 to the JFK mail center.
Both men are confi dent
that their business will grow
at the airport given their experience
,concern for their
workers and growth of ecommerce.
