their Black History celebration
with attendance by
Lt. Governor Hochul. The
Association honored local
aviation individuals, Port
Authority Aviation Director
Huntley Lawrence and
Council for Airport Opportunity
Verdia Noel with
remarks and a proclamation
by New York Lt. Governor
Hochul. She praised
the community leaders and
spoke affectionately about
her strong relationship
with the elected officials
Queens Borough President
Melinda Katz, Councilman
Moya, Assemblyman Aubry
while invoking the name of
community pioneer former
Queens Borough President
Helen Marshall.
Lawrence currently presides
over all Port airports
and is especially focused
on the positive customer
experience and the redevelopment
phases of La-
Guardia, Newark and JFK
Airports. Noel is the Council
for Airport Opportunity
Community Director
bringing hundreds of jobs
to the Queens residents.
Both had humble beginnings
through the Council
of Airport Opportunity
and expressed gratitude
for their experience and
growth from the Council
and community.
